Academic experience

Dr. Amanpreet Kaur is working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering since July 2023. She joined TIET in 2006 as an Assistant Professor and has been associated with teaching and research at ECED, TIET since then. She has guided 2 Ph.D. thesis and 31 M.E. thesis and Published 30 SCI/SCIE indexed papers and 10 Scopus Indexed papers in journals. She has 341 citations of her research papers and an I10 index of 16.She has completed two research projects worth Rupees 25 Lakhs, funded by the AICTE and UGC. Currently she is working on two research projects funded by MIETY and ICMR worth 1.45 crores. She is also working as an affiliate faculty at the TIET-Virginia Tech Centre of Excellence in Emerging Materials. She completed a special training programme from the Centre for Academic Practices at Trinity College Dublin – and is currently contributing her services for training the faculty with new pedagogies in teaching and research for TIET faculty and research scholars serving as a Thapar Academic fellow in the Centre for Advanced Practices in Teaching and Learning.

  • Completed project entitled, “Development of Multiband Microstrip Antenna, RPS-AICTE, with funding amount Rs 7.5 Lacs- Role Principal Investigator (PI).
  • Completed project entitled, “Design and development of stacked patch Microstrip antennas for WLAN applications”, UGC-major with funding amount 15.8lakh rupees. Role –PI.
  • Ongoing Project: Design & Development of Microwave-Based Imaging and Hyperthermia Systems, for Diagnosis & Treatment of Skin Cancer respectively and testing the Prototype in 2-D and 3-D Organotypic Skin Epithelial Carcinoma Model". Funded by ICMR, New Delhi funding amount (59 .44Lakhs).
  • Ongoing Project: Development of focused Compact Microwave Hyperthermia Applicator for small cancerous tumours. Funded by MEITY, New Delhi. Funding Amount (88, 76000/).
  • Ongoing Project: Design and Development of a Machine Learning based Wearable Metasurface device for Personal Health monitoring. Funded by CEEMS –TIET.
